How do I properly dispose of needles/syringes?

Proper disposal of sharps is on the Town of Billerica website under Board of Health Nurses Page. You can bring the used needles to the Board of Health office in a proper container that is filled and taped.

How do I dispose of expired medication or medication from a deceased family member?

All pill medication can be disposed of at the Billerica Police Station. Any liquid prescription medication can be disposed by diluting the medication in a large coffee can with the addition of some bleach.

When can I bring my child in for a Lead Screening Test for preschool?

The nurse does lead testing on Monday mornings because it needs to be sent to the Lab in Boston for testing. Call 978-671-0932 to make an appointment.

Can I bring my child in to get a vaccine for school?

Yes, call 978-671-0932 to schedule an appointment with the nurse. Bring your child’s immunization records and school forms with you to the appointment.

When are the flu clinics held?

Flu Clinics are held each year, usually in October, at the Town Hall and at the Council on Aging. The best way to learn of these events is to subscribe to email and/or text message notifications using our “Notify Me” service.
